Putin promised a harsh response to Ukraine’s drone attack, says Trump.

Trump states that Putin has promised robust retaliation in response to Ukraine’s drone attack. US President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin had cautioned him during a phone conversation that Moscow would react to the recent drone assaults by Ukraine. Trump disclosed that the two leaders engaged in a conversation regarding the situation during a call that extended beyond an hour. “We discussed the attack on Russia’s docked airplanes, by Ukraine, and also various other attacks that have been taking place by both sides,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. He remarked, “President Putin did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields.” Trump characterized the dialogue as “a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate peace.”

Russia issues a warning regarding a potential military response. Earlier in the day, the Kremlin suggested that it was contemplating military options in reaction to Ukrainian activities deep within Russian territory. Russian officials have likewise attributed a role in the attacks to the West. Moscow called on both the United States and the United Kingdom to restrain Kyiv in light of these incidents, which Ukrainian officials have lauded as indicators of their ongoing resistance, despite more than three years of conflict. Officials from Britain and the United States, however, asserted that they had no prior knowledge of the recent drone strikes, which targeted Russian nuclear-capable long-range bombers.
The discussion also encompassed Iran’s nuclear programme.

Trump stated that his dialogue with Putin encompassed topics related to Iran and its nuclear aspirations. “I stated to President Putin that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and, on this, I believe that we were in agreement,” Trump wrote. He noted that Putin had expressed a willingness to participate in discussions focused on achieving a new nuclear agreement with Tehran. “President Putin suggested that he will participate in the discussions with Iran and that he could, perhaps, be helpful in getting this brought to a rapid conclusion,” Trump wrote. He expressed discontent with Iran’s procrastination on crucial decisions, asserting, “It is my opinion that Iran has been slowwalking their decision on this very important matter, and we will need a definitive answer in a very short period of time!”
